Peer Supervision is implemented in the CAS Teaching in Higher Education through so-called Transfer Groups. Access to the Transfer Groups is granted to all those enrolled in the CAS Teaching in Higher Education at the University of Bern. Participants meet three times in the same constellation, each for an afternoon at intervals of two to three weeks, in order to reflect on and work through practical situations from their own teaching. Participation in more than one Transfer Group is possible. Further information can be found in the CAS Teaching in Higher Education guidelines.

Follow-up days are advanced days linked to regular courses. The duration is one day, and they take place on campus. They build on previous course content by providing more in-depth or broader coverage of a topic. This means that full attendance at the corresponding previous course is a prerequisite for admission. Please refer to the relevant announcement for follow-up days for information on which courses are valid for admission.

Information events are open to everyone. They are usually short and focus on general information and overviews of specific programmes. One example are the one-hour CAS Info-Events on the CAS Teaching in Higher Education, which take place regularly as web meetings in Zoom.

Conferences are large events lasting one or more days, which we organise on a regular basis. One example is the annual Teaching Day at the University of Bern.

Courses are two-day or longer continuing education events that provide an introduction to specific topics related to university teaching, programme development and academic work.

Micro-workshops offer brief introductions to specific topics or tools. They last between 1.5 and 3 hours and focus on a narrow topic. Due to their short duration, they are not usually credited towards the CAS Teaching in Higher Education.

Mini-workshops are half-day events lasting three and a half to four hours, focusing on a specific topic or tool for teaching or academic work.

Full-day Workshops are events that last one day and focus on specific topics or the development of particular skills and abilities. In contrast to Follow-up Days, there are no prerequisite courses that must be completed in order to participate.

Walk-in Sessions are open formats that are generally accessible to anyone who wants to engage with or work on the announced topic more or less spontaneously. While registration is not necessary, it is recommended that you bring your own materials.
